I choose to facilitate better health and wellness by teaching yoga and supporting growing families as a doula.
I make my home in Sonoma County, CA with my husband and two sons on a small farm in Windsor. At home I am happiest in the kitchen, the garden, and caring for our many animals, including two dogs, a cat, hens and rabbits. The forest and the ocean soothe my soul, as does spending time family and friends. It is with much gratitude that I am able to do work that is in alignment with my greatest passions.
I have been committed to my yoga practice for two decades, and have been teaching yoga since 2012. I offer both group yoga classes and private instruction. Gentle Hatha, Restorative, Prenatal and Postpartum yoga are my areas of expertise. As a child, I watched my mother practicing yoga in our living room. But it was not until I entered college that I discovered the gifts yoga has to offer. I took many yoga classes at SF State while I was earning my BA in psychology. I then spent years studying with Britt Fohrman and many other talented teachers in San Francisco. In 2008 I completed a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Tree in San Francisco. And in 2010 I completed an additional 100hr training with Britt Fohrman to teach Yoga for the Childbearing Year.
After supporting a close friend through two of her pregnancies and births, and then being initiated as a mother through my own births in 2011 and 2014, I was inspired to become a doula. I feel called to support, educate, and advocate for women in pregnancy and at their births. I have been a back up doula since 2017 and am now pursing certification through Birthing From Within, to be completed in 2020.
Deeply committed to supporting women and growing families during the childbearing year, I believe that this transformational and sacred stage of life has the potential to be truly empowering. As a natural nurturer and mindful listener, I am honored to hold space for couples to grow into their role as parents.
